Bonus item:
When the lid to a sippy cup falls off the top rack and rests on the drying coil at the bottom of the dishwasher, it melts. And it smells like 1,000 candles were recently extinguished. Discovered this by smell at 11 p.m. last night. Lovely.
Some time after our son was born, Nan was boiling all the cleanable parts of the breast pump. She went outside and forgot about the pot....all the water boiled away and all the rubbery parts started melting....
