CLOSED
Things are just moving way too fast. I'm throwing stuff out by the armload now and our son's surgery is two weeks from today, so I'm going to have to abandon this blog. I am still purging! I'm just not documenting it a piece at a time.

Day 10
I purchased and installed a digital programmable thermostat yesterday evening, so I didn't put a lot of thought into what to purge.
Large napkin
It covered the seat of the Day 1 purge IKEA chair at one point, so yeah, covered in cat fur forever.
Bonus item:
When the lid to a sippy cup falls off the top rack and rests on the drying coil at the bottom of the dishwasher, it melts. And it smells like 1,000 candles were recently extinguished. Discovered this by smell at 11 p.m. last night. Lovely.

Day 6
Ugh, these headphones. The right ear bud started going out unless you held the cord a certain way. I spent three annoying hours recently attempting to listen to music through these when they were all I had with me. Why was I keeping these? Jesus wasn't going to heal them. See you in hell, broken headphones.
Day 5
Day 4
Ooooh! Red cardboard box I've had since we moved from our last house into this one five years ago!

Day 3
We got home from the Caps game last night and I realized I had to select an item for day 3. Not feeling incredibly inspired, I picked this:
I think it's a Chinese Communist hat. My sister-in-law brought it down last August to sell at the flea market and it was among the items that didn't sell. She tossed it in the box for Goodwill and it must have fallen out. It's a no brainer to toss, because it's not even mine and what is it doing in the house?
Bonus pic: Me in the hat, looking Communist.

Day 2
Aluminum Water Bottle, LL Bean
A neat idea in theory: A refillable water bottle. But honestly, not so practical. The metal "sweats" when cold liquid is in it (condensation) so if it is in a bag or touching your clothes, you'll end up with a wet spot. I put it in recycling, so I guess it will get crushed and become a can or something.

Day 1
We had the thing for years. It's not very comfortable if you're in it for more than an hour, and it takes up a lot of floor space for what it is, so I dumped it into the basement, where a cat decided he liked it, so it is now permanently covered in fur (I tried to lint brush clean it and gave up). This wasn't even in good enough shape for Goodwill, so it went on the curb last night with the trash, tempting passers-by with its exotic lines.
